I’ve only just started on my ancestry quest, so haven’t joined any other site except this one.  I just Googled ‘Samuel Burgess’ and RootsChat popped up.  I’ve been going through a lot of old papers, and found some names from the past...so my quest continues...!

The other poster has not been on here for some time so may not reply.  You may be better letting us know what information you are looking for on Samuel so we can help.

Wow! Thank you so much for all the information!  This has cleared up quite a few questions that I had. 
I’m hoping to visit Samuel’s birthplace (Belchford) and his last resting place (Hanging Heaton) very shortly.

Yes, he is the Samuel Burgess, buried at St.Pauls, Hanging Heaton.  I believe he was married twice; his first wife was Maria Kirk (died 1898 age 28), second wife, Mary Jane (born Dewsbury 1859, died 1930).

Hello...my Great Grandfather was one of Francis and Martha’s children...Samuel (born abt. 1873). I am trying to find out as much as possible about my Burgess forebears...if anyone can help? Thank you.

I am trying to trace my ancestors.  Samuel Burgess, born in Belchford, Lincolnshire, about 1873, died 1944 in Dewsbury, West Riding of Yorkshire. Samuel was my Great Grandfather and I would love to find out more about him. Can anyone help, please?
