Sorry for delay in responding but ordered a paper certificate instead of pdf - your hunch was right for which many thanks.

Death certificate says John Harries died 13 June 1911 at Lunatic Asylum, St Peters, Carmarthen. Male aged 41. Labourer of Summerhill, Haverfordwest i.e. that is Freystrop. Cause of death: acute pulmonary tuberculosis - about 7 weeks.

Same thought had occurred to me - perhaps she was confused or ashamed when completing the 1911 Census - or someone suggested he may be a hospital patient? Strange how we cannot find another record for him.

Letitia claimed to be a widow in 1916 while appearing before an army tribunal at Haverfordwest to try and save one of her sons being called up for military service, according to a report in a local newspaper at the time.

I am looking for a death record for John James Harries, born about 1871 at Freystrop. Married Letticha Thomas (1867-1930) in 1894 and the couple lived at Nash Wood - she is my 3rd great aunt. Couple had four children but one (also possibly called John James Harries) died at a young age (1902?). In 1901 John James Harries is working at a brickworks (Johnston?) but cannot find him in the 1911 Census when Letticha says she is the wife of a farmer and is listed along with three children. In 1916, Letticha says she is a "widow." So what has happened to her husband - when/where did he die. Any help much appreciated.
