I think 11 wks Sqdn refers to RAF airfield constructiion services rather than a flying squadron, if you look under mustering wks also appears there.

Colour blindness is a possible reason but I don't know if that was tested for then, I know people wishing to become aircrew nowadays are tested. It also prevents you working in electronics trades in the RAF as well.

I agree with Jim. The swagger stick gives them away, other rank soldiers in WW2 did not have them.

If I remember correctly the change to Ancestry's term and conditions gave them the copyright for ever on any documents, photographs etc. that people added to their trees, this is probably what your family member is referring to. I actually moved my trees before the change and deleted them from Ancestry, as far as I am concerned any photo, I or any members of my family have taken, they own the copyright to not Ancestry.

Both medals were returned, perhaps they did not have the correct address for him or perhaps he did not want them, or a third possibility is that he had returned to Sierra Leone.

The eagles were always facing backwards regardless of which side they were, they came as a pair. Women could be and were LACs in WW2. The rank no longer exists in the modern RAF and in fact the other ranks (those not commisioned officers) are now known as aviators instead of aircraftmen/women.

I think the man's sign says Charles Ironclad, i do know there were a type of shipscalled ironclads in the 1800s which were used during the American Civil War but that may be a red herring.

I have a similar subscription with HP and know that they look at my printer around the first of a month to see how many pages I have printed, so I leave it on for a few hours on that day. As far as ink levels are concerned I think the printer is looked at whenever it is on and ink is sent if required, I don't think you need worry about keeping yours switched off until you need to print.
