In 1901 census there are two Elizabeth Seffen's in Bonhill.

One is married ,age 30 living as a guest

The other lives at 469 Main st , Bonhill with husband Henry Seffen and son James. The same census says Henry and Lizzie were born in Ireland.

Hello

In 1915 there is an Elizabeth Seffen at 229 & 223  Main st.  Bonhill on SP valuations. She is also listed in 1920 at same addresses.1925 ,1930 , 1935 and 1940 , same thing ...

In the valuation section of SP I put surname begins with Sef and in location box I put Bonhill then you toggle through the years starting in 1920.

There is a glitch on the 1915 valuation page... if you put name starts with Sef and place Bonhill... nothing comes up. Remove Bonhill and you'll see Elizabeth Seffen 229 Main st Bonhill.

And.... just like that the SP site is down for maintenance and we can't check.

Hello.

On SP 1911 census click "fuzzy matching" under surname and type murcar.

The missing names are under Marcar.

Fife / Re: Morris Family 1700s help

Greetings.

The only David Morris born in Fife 1796 that I can see is:

David Morris
Born: 29/04/1796
Son of: William Morris and Janet Summers
At: Anstruther Easter

He married Agnes Smith 01/10/1819 at Kemback and had a bunch of kids in Kemback. However I don't see a birth around 1796 in Kemback for a David Morris. Just the one above for Fife. Did you see a birth for David in Kemback?

Ayrshire / Re: James Gray McLaren: death information?

Alison Agnes Mackinnon only died months ago at age 94 according to SP (mother Elder).

Also, I can't see any divorce for Alison and James... did you see one?

I do see that Alison Agnes Mackinnon in her death also went by Alison McLaren and is listed under that name on SP. Could they still have been married? Divorces only get listed from 1984 on SP...

Or he could be 100 and alive   ;D

It had occurred to me that Mclean is similar to Mclaren. Sometimes these names are written how they are heard. Maybe not so much in later years?

Anyhow there is on SP a death for a James Mclean in Irvine 1972 no mother's name listed, born 1924. It's an outside chance but it could end up being something like that.

Problem is that it looks like he might have died outside Scotland and James McLaren is a popular name ...

Hello, and welcome !  8)

I found a death on SP for an Elizabeth Claff Quin 1897 Paisley...
All I did was type in forename begins with Claff under death section and nothing else required.

Hope it helps.

I'll keep digging.

Cheers

P.S:  Are you looking for info on Elizabeth Claffet the senior that married James or Elizabeth Claff Quinn the daughter of Edward?  Just curious.  ;D
