The dwellings as she remembers were on the property and part of the building which occupied the whole block. My Great Gramps was a night watchman and my Gramps was born in one of the 4 or 6 dwellings there. When the one partner died, the other just as elderly guy sold up because the council wanted to widen the road. He gave the guys a 500 pound severance package. An absolute fortune.
