Apologies for the multiple posts but this is the best way for my head to sort out the information.

What I have on Samuel Snrs parents at this stage is:

Thomas Harvey 1786 - 1866 and Maria Webb 1788 - 1840

Looks like they had 9 children with Samuel (Our Samuel Snr), Elizabeth and Harriet moving to South Australia.

Thomas Harvey was born to a single woman Elizabeth Harvey, she married a Thomas Coxe/Cox after his birth and then proceeded to have 10 children.

From what I can see is the Harveys originate from Horsley, Gloucestershire, England but I have not done a detailed search for evidence.

Our Samuel Snr seems to have Somerset connected to him at the time of his departure to Australia, why I dont know?

I have yet to confirm the birth places via documents for my ancestor Robert Harvey and Samuel Harvey Snr. I have come across a lovely detailed research into the Harveys of Horsley that someone who has visited the church and grave sites has posted and has all these people connected but I do like to have facts proven if possible.

Conclusion is this is a nut shell of what I have, Im fairly confident on my information up to Robert Harvey including where they farmed in Australia etc but still working on his parents and grandparents.

My dad was always hopeful that he was related to William Harvey a physician from 1578 as my dad is a scientist and teacher, now working with wood. But does not look like I could make that connection for him LOL - Especially as for me the trail of Elizabeth Harvey the single mother of Thomas has gone cold for now.

Look forward to communicating more, I am a New Zealander and passionate about ancestor/history so any other information or corrected information id be so grateful. Obviously being in NZ I dont have the luxury of popping to the home villages to do some digging.

Talk soon.

What I have beyond Robert Harvey 1845 - 1917

His father Samuel Harvey 1812 - 1891 was married to Alice Etheridge 1809 - 1835 they had two sons:

Jesse Harvey 1831 - 1890
Thomas Harvey 1835 (Haven't finished research on him)

It looks like Alice died the same year as Thomas' birth - could be from child birth, sickness have not confirmed the why as yet, may not ever.

Samuel then marries Ann Hill 1816 - 1888 (the surname referred to in previous posts)

Ann is also referred to as Eliza Ann Hill in other peoples research but I have only found documents to support Ann Hill thus far, could very well be her name was Eliza but went by Ann.

Samuel and Ann had:

Eliza Harvey (Have also seen Eliza Victoria Harvey) 1837 - 1843
George Harvey 1838 (Still researching. Others have him connected to a George Edwin Harvey but I dont think they are the same family. I am sure of George as there is a census I have a copy of that shows the previous older siblings Eliza who was 4 at the time and George)
Samuel Harvey 1841 (Still researching)
Matilda Harvey 1843 - 1881
Robert Harvey 1844 - 1917 (My ancestor)
Eliza Harvey 1846 (Still researching)
Alfred Harvey 1851 (Still researching, unsure about this one but may have found some evidence)

I do have a passenger list of their immigration from England arriving in Australia 1855 which has

Samuel Snr
Thomas
George
Samuel Jnr
Matilda (but then crossed out saying she wasnt on board. But did make it to Aus at some point)
Robert
Eliza

This is still on going research as I like to be sure and always open for fact checking and changing.

Thanks Dale for the advice,

Ive just signed up so getting the hang of it.

Robert Harvey and Esther Kelton are my 3rd great grandparents. Their son William Kelton Harvey was the only one from their children that left Australia for NZ as far as I can see.

William and his wife Edythe had three children - Olive, Kelton (My Great Grandfather) and Robert (Bob) I have a lovely story about their lives written by Olive explaining their journey through NZ and upbringing.

Kelton and his wife Marjorie Hill had 13 children themselves (I think - could be 12) I need to double check my papers. My grandfather Rex Thomas Harvey was one of the older siblings.

I have recently been in touch with his sister who has sent me some of her family ancestry research which I have yet to add to my online tree.

Hi Jen10

I am an ancestor of Samuel Harvey and have been working for a while on the family tee. I still feel like a beginner so I will never say my information is 100% accurate but I have gathered a good amount of information and would love to see if your still interested in anything I may have?
