I have now managed to find my Uncle and I have paid for the plot in Thornaby cemetery. I now intend to buy a headstone. The problem I have is that I do not know his date of death. I applied to GRO for birth/death certificates on 15 June 2020 but still waiting. Middlesbrough Registry Office cannot find the records either. This is delaying buying a memorial. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can find his actual date of death please? I know he was interred on 18 April 1933.

Thank you for the information. Its sad to say you are probably right about the public grave. I never thought about that but my grandparents were quite poor and would not have been able to afford an individual one. Do you know whether the local Council will be able to point me in the right direction as to where he is? Are public graves extensive?  So very very sad that a 2 year old died and there is nothing to commemorate him.

Good Morning,
Ive just joined this site and I'm going around in circles trying to establish where to post.
Here's my query

My uncle was born Norman Page in 1931. He died aged 2 in 1933 and death registed with East Riding of Yorkshire. He was buried in Thornaby Cemetery but as far as I am aware there is no gravestone. I am trying to trace his grave so I can mark it in some way shape or form but no luck so far. I'd be really grateful to anybody who can help please.
