Presumably just coincidence but on the ER's for 1931 in Whitefield, at No 3 Briggs Square are Walter and Mary Cunliffe, and at No 4 are Harry and Frances Bond.

Mary's first husband was also Harry, not Walter?

Walter is Harry Cunliffes (first harry husband) Brother.
this is not coincidence thank you so much x

Since this post I have since retrieved harrys death certificate.  He is in fact born in 1877.  for some reason he lied on the marriage cert that I posted on ancestry.  Mary and Harry married only 10 months after marys first husband died.  Harry and Harry (at least she wouldnt forget his name) both worked at the salford corporation.

Jamjar you now have me searching frances bond.  Fingers crossed its the right one

Hi everyone
I'm a Newbie to this forum but not to researching.  I'm Stuck with our Nanna's second husband.  Harry Bond.  Harry pops up on the 1939 Register.  As living with our Nanna Mary Ellen Bond previously Cunliffe.  Her maiden name Boardman  born 16 November 1897.  Harry is Harry Bond born 10 June 1877 we were told he came over from America but I'm struggling to find him.  I know his fathers name was Richard who was deceased when he married our Nanna on 27 April 1939.  We know he lived at 49 heywood street cheetham and our nanna at fairey lane cheetham, Manchester. We were told he was African American but how true this is we are not sure.  All i know he was a very well respected man and we would love to get in touch with any family members that remember him. harry passed away in September 1945 and was buried on our fathers birthday,  he lies in an unmarked grave which we plan to rectify,  If anyone could shed any light id be most appreciative
