Thanks very much for the comments above. I should have included the maiden name of Janet which was Macmillan. Well, I assume so from the info left by my grandfather - which is included below:
"My father (Lachlan Macmillan 1840 - 1906) had a cousin at Ardrishaig Cousin Janet as we always called her. She was Mrs MacCallum the Lock-keepers wife, and their family Neil, Archie, Morag and Jessie still live at Ardrishaig. Two of her sons Neil and Archie are lock-keepers there still (1950). Their sisters Jessie & Morag keep house (Canal Cottage) for Archie (who is unmarried). Other two sons Johnnie and Alex are in Glasgow (Buccleuch St). Jessie, who was for many years a housekeeper to a rich man at Campbeltown sent my daughter a fine present at her wedding and her other sister Mary (who is Mrs Robert Fraser) is (or was) living at Bayonne, New Jersey ."
That is absolutely everything I know, so if you are able to add or clarify anything, I would be very grateful.
