Technical Help / Rootschat Icon missing
« on: Friday 16 February 24 01:04 GMT (UK)  »
I have had the Rootschat Icon on my desktop computer for years and years.
For some reason I have lost it and I have the Edge Icon ?? in it's place.
I have no idea how this came about - probably hit the wrong button somewhere.
Could some kind person please help me to get it back.

Hi Gene Grogan,
Apologies for this late reply I did not see it until now.
It may take me sometime  to dig them up again.
I'll see what I can find.

Gene do you have a Tree on Ancestry??

Hi Gene Grogan,
Not sure if you will be notified of this message.
However the names Coyle and Grogan and  Termonmaguirk - Urbelle - caught my interest.
I have certificates for my gx2 grandparents and the places Urbelle - Termonmaguirk  are recorded on theses certificates.
Just recently I have been tracing these ancestors back to Ireland and strangely the names Coyle and Grogan have come up in my research.
Hopefully we can get in touch.

I think I did read somewhere that he did meet his father, before he died.

The Common Room / Ancestry Trees
« on: Wednesday 04 January 23 02:40 GMT (UK)  »
I have a question regarding photos - records - posted on Ancestry Trees , when they are saved by other people to their trees.
Where it shows the people who have saved them - sometimes there are a number of people.
However they may say saved by 10 of 20 people and only list a small number how would I be able to see all the people who have saved it.
Hope I have made this as clear as I possible can, and some kind person can help me.

shanreagh,
My reason for thinking that there is an error in the Queensland passenger list 1848-1912 for the John Fielden.
Is because I have seen the scanned copy of the NSW Australia 1828-1896 and the Queensland one.
The passenger names are all the same on both copies. I followed up on one passenger in particular who was on the John Fielden with his wife. A son was born to them and registered in NSW as born April 1854.
The Queensland copy has June 19 1853 crossed out and 1854 inserted.

Yes I'm quite sure that the error is not with Ancestry - this time.

Jamjar,

That link you have posted I have read it before.... see below.

Just quoting from the Transcriber's Notes:
"The information about the Ship (John Fielden) of 916 tons was published in the Moreton Bay Courier 18 June 1853.  On the film, from which this list was copied, the year 1853 was crossed out and 1854 put in."
