Down / Re: Drumlough Presbyterian church
« on: Today at 09:00 »
My g.g. Grandparents had most of their children baptised in Drumlough Presbyterian church From 1849  onwards. No marriage records seem to exist from before then and I just wonder which church in the area they might have been married in. Any ideas? Rosemary
According to PRONI's Guide to Church Records they had microfilmed copies of baptisms from 1855 onwards so presumably one from 1849 until that date were in local custody? (although PRONI's Guide usually mentions records in local custody.

How do I fill in the eight generation gap and find my ancestors names?
The same way you do any other research- back step by step to see if you can find a link and don't rely on other people's trees (use then as a guide to your own searches and not as a source).

Ireland / Re: Kevin/ Keiran Cummins

Civil registration in Ireland didn't start until 1864 (for all births, marriages, deaths except non-Catholic marriages which began in 1845). Therefore, there won't be a birth or marriage registration for him. Pre-1800s is also very early for church records in Ireland. Many Catholic parish registers are online (free) but coverage varies from parish to parish.
https://registers.nli.ie/ (since you don't even know a county it will be difficult to find details easily)
Have you tried tracing his children to see if they give more details about the family or done DNA testing?

Derry (Londonderry) / Re: ANDERSON'S OF L/DERRY

Maybe I made a mistake , I looked at the census and it does say 24 Bennett for my William Anderson and family. To keep it simple he is my grandmothers uncle. The last entry in the census is my Great Great Gran. So, if it’s them , I can connect some dots for who ever is looking to know a little about the Anderson’s. I’m just confused if it’s the same street as originally mentioned

That household is not at 24 Bennett St. 24 is the number assigned by the enumerator. The actual street address is 49 Bennett St. as shown on this part of the form-

It was heywood that found posted the marriage earlier. Good to know you did find the correct death for Maria. People didn't worry too much about ages or birthdays so not surprising to find differences from record to record.

Mayo / Re: Kathleen Tierney & John Murphy m 1912 Castlebar

Start with the 1912 marriage which should list names and occupations of both fathers-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1912/09916/5604218.pdf
Her residence Castlebar (this may or may not be where her family lived) and father James Tierney, a blacksmith. Can't see any matches for her father in 1901 or 1911 and nothing in Co, Mayo for a Kathleen Tierney (her name might be Katherine, Kate, etc.)

Another good find. I had originally searched for him in barracks with birthplace as Monaghan since Fermanagh hadn't been mentioned at that point. Interestingly clipping mentioned burial in Monaghan.
