Gilbert Anningson's will is available free from the National Archives. I missed it because it is listed as Annington, but I've asked them to correct that.

Many thanks, particularly for pointing me to Gilbert Annningson's will.

Thanks for that.

I couldn't find how to contact the site owner about Henry Noble. However, I've since discovered that he gives the volume number in the page address and the folio number against Henry's entry.

With your help on Isaac Anningson, I now have enough info to order copies from the Borthwick Institute. I'm most grateful.

How did you find the will of Isaac Anningson, Queenie? It didn't show up when I searched Findmypast, nor when I tried a search of the Borthwick Institute wills.

I found the will of Henry Noble of Larpool, Whitby, on a website that lists the names of people mentioned in wills, but doesn't give the full details. http://www.davekinggenealogy.co.uk/probate/personalnames/PNamesYork1666-1667vol48.html

Many thanks, Queenie. I'd looked at the Borthwick Institute before, but failed to find it.

The Henry Noble I am pursuing is Henry the elder. There was a younger man of the same name.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of these wills, either a scan of the original or a transcript?

Isaac Anningson of Whitby 1661

Henry Noble of Larpoole, Whitby, Yeoman 1667.

I've just discovered this conversation. I'm researching my husband's ancestors and have got back to Ann Annison, daughter of Isaac. I should love to have his will in full, even though it's difficult to read. Could you send it to me, via my website https://faysampson.co.uk/, or let me know where I can obtain it? You'll find lots of Whitby ancestors on this site.
