How amazing...must be 5 years since I looked at the Halls and will need to refresh my memory.I know I had given up on them thinking aid hit a brick wall ...I wasn’t sure if I had the right parents for my Elizabeth.Im away at the present but will be home tonight.
Will look into my paperwork etc.
It’s good to have something crop up that you haven’t researched for ages.
I live in Windsor..are you anywhere near

Technical Help / Family Search web site
« on: Wednesday 27 June 18 17:50 BST (UK)  »
I have not used this site for a while and was surprised to see that Ihad to log in before I did a search.I went to log in or register part and they asked for my age and date of birth and whether I was a member of the Mormons. My friend said she had the same trouble and there were other questions asked too which I didn’t bother to look at.
Has anyone else experienced this

The Common Room / Re: Ancestry again....problems
« on: Sunday 17 June 18 09:46 BST (UK)  »
At last I managed to speak to a person this morning.Remeber I have used my sign in for a long time with no problem.Today I was told that I had been given a new user name without my knowledge which was safer to use than my email address.I was told to put this user name in and my password which I had changed yesterday. It didn’t work...I was then given a password by Ancestry to use and it logged me in.Im a bit worried now about changing that password to one of my choice.
This isn’t very satisfactory is it.

It’s a wonderful feeling when you finally break down a wall.Ive still got lots of gaps to fill in.Some records I’ve found but I’ve no way of finding proof that they are right so I’ll keep searching for the right answers.Am waiting for some counties to put more records on line.
Patience...

The Common Room / Gggrandfather Found after 15years
« on: Thursday 12 April 18 12:19 BST (UK)  »
Don’t give up hope.About 15years ago I sent for the death cert of my gggrandfather Richard Light .When it arrived I put it to one side because although the date 1875 coukd fit I didn’t think his death as a Che,lsea Pensioner He was on trial at the Old Bailey in 1842 for bigamy twice over and sentenced to 7years transportation.Put onthe hulk York in Gosport I found from National Archives he had been pardoned Censuses show he was in the Westminster Chelsea areas and just a labourer.
Chelsea Pensioners records appeared on Ancestry.....and there he was ...birthplace correct and the info that he had served at Waterloo,
My day was made

Gloucestershire / Re: Sandys family, Miserden
« on: Wednesday 14 March 18 16:04 GMT (UK)  »
Miserden church is a lovely church in a beautiful setting.I know it well because we walked the churchyard many times finding ancestors of my late husband. The church records are good and more or less complete.Years ago my late husband was given permission to photograph the records which he put on a disc and either gave to the church or to the record office. The churchyard map from what I can remember is good....perhaps get in touch with the church warden or the vicar direct.
