There's a Royal Artillery attestation record which suggests he was called up from the reserve for a brief period in the spring of 1921 - army number 1009722. It's possible that his service records were retained by the MoD and may still exist.

There are no service records online from that era. You can apply for a copy though. You’ll need to provide the person’s full name, date of birth, and service number, if you know it.
You do not have to provide a death certificate "But without one, information may be withheld ".

Hmmm. My first reaction was that they are not by the same person: the capital M is quite different and the second signature has much more of a forward slant.

However, having said that, the formation of the letters "a" and "r" are quite similar.

Another thought: might the later one be a transcription?

It looks like he died in the Crimea (or Scutari in Turkey perhaps) on 4 February 1855.

As Henry Gough 2425 he appears on the Crimean War medal rolls with clasps for Alma and Inkerman
