Hi Moogles01. I'm still waiting for you to send me a private message with your email address so we can email each other and to find out what information you need. I could also give you access to my family tree. So when you are able to, please message me.

Thanks
CP

Hi Moogles. I haven't been on Rootschat for so long due to illness. Thanks for your message.

Yes, I think it's Richard UREN, is it? I have heaps of information but you will need to post a couple more comments on the board to be able to use the Private Messages so that we can exchange email addresses. Let me know when you can access Private Messages. Send me your email address in PM but DO NOT post it on this public board. Look forward to hearing from you soon.  :)

Regards,
CP.

South Africa / Re: Annie Maria BARRABLE - where do I start searching?
« on: Thursday 11 August 11 05:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi Roger and thanks for your message.  Welcome to Rootschat!

I have heard about the Spanish Barrables arriving in Cornwall.

My problem is that I don't know where my grandmother was born and I don't know the names of her parents either so I can't apply for a birth certificate until I have some idea of where she was born (but from the marriage certificate it seems she was born about 1881).  My mother had told me (many moons ago) that my grandmother came from Wales but never said where in Wales.  I was too young at the time to think about genealogy etc., so didn't pursue it.  However, my mother gave me a photo of Annie Maria BARRABLE and a photo of Annie's mother and Annie's mother's photo was taken in Penzance, Cornwall but no names on the back.  Mum also mentioned a "Miss Edwards" and I am now assuming that she was talking about the mother of Annie.  I can't obtain a death certificate either for Annie Maria BARRABLE because I'm not sure, where in South Africa, she died.  I do, however, have a copy of Annie Maria's marriage certificate.  So I'm stumped and don't know how to move forward to find the rest of the BARRABLE clan.

I have had a photo sleuth take a look at both photos and he told me that he doubts the nameless one is my grandmother's mother.  He thinks it could be her grandmother.   ::)

I would love to be able to share anything with you but at the moment I've got nothing but dear old grandma and a nameless gr-grandmother. :(

Thanks for any help or suggestions Roger and do keep in touch.

Regards,
Corny

One Name Studies: T to Z / Re: UREN (All)
« on: Thursday 08 April 10 10:23 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone, I have just popped home to do a few things so haven't read your messages.  I'm at my son's home looking after my grandchildren as my darling, precious daughter in law has finally been given her final "hours".  She has 2 weeks left to live and I just haven't been able to get back to anyone for the last 2 years but now that her time is so short, I have to be with her.  I promise that I will catch up once everything is over.  So please bear with me.

Thanks to you all for your input.
Take care and love one another.  Life is so short and precious.
Regards
Corny

One Name Studies / Re: I did'nt know this!!
« on: Sunday 21 February 10 09:00 GMT (UK)  »
... and as I have recently found out, the person who was doing a One Name Study that I was interested in, has departed this world  ::) :( ... how sad that nobody has "taken over" this wonderful job.  All his wonderful work gone to pot.

I feel that it's now up to me to do it but I don't have access to that deceased person's (valuable) information.  I'm starting from scratch, literally, and what astonishes me is the number of people that I contact with THAT particular surname ... some are helpful but most are NOT INTERESTED ... !!!!!!!!!!, thinking that I have an ulterior motive. :o :o :o ::) ::)  I rest my case !!!

Hello Sparksmex

It's always good to hear from any UREN descendant and to obtain details of their ancestors.  Thanks for all your input.  I will see what I can "connect" and when I do, I will get back to you.  There are SO MANY branches out there and it's hard work trying to tie them all up but without the support of everyone like yourself, the job will never be accomplished.

Please PM me with your email address and let's stay in touch.

Regards,
CP

Hi beagle,

If you would send me your email address I can email the information to you.  There's about 11 pages.  If you "click" on my name at the left hand side, then click on "Send this person a personal message", you will be able to send me a PM which is a Private Message.  As soon as I get your details I will email the information.
