The Common Room / Re: Ancestry.....what are they up to now

No I have no rights on that tree. My name is showing up in search results  as the child of the deceased couple, this never use to happen, if I go to into the tree my name does not show which is how it should be. I thought that no names of the living should show up in search results for family trees on Ancestry.

I have noticed for the last few days search results are rather strange, also I have noticed on Public Family tree results my name shows up in full for a tree that has my parents, as their child, I thought they were not supposed to show names of the living, when I enter the tree my name does not show, but it does in the index results. I tried a few other searches in the Public Trees and have noticed quite a few names of the living are showing up as the child of the deceased parents. My sisters full name shows up ( she is alive) on a tree that has her deceased husband. I have checked again today and I still seeing the same details.

I also took part in the Beta testing - I only have small trees and the syncing went okay, but I have now got a problem accessing my ancestry.co.uk account, I keep getting the sign in page which will not accept my details. Have manage to access my account by the .com address and tried to get to the UK site from there but got the sign in page again. I know it should not be related to Family Tree Maker 2017 but it has only happened since it was linked to my account, has anybody else having this problem.

Sussex / Re: Sussex BMD records

The Sussex Family History Group has transcriptions for East Hoathly and Waldron amongst their records, membership is less than £20 for the year.

I think you might find what you are looking for in the Waldron records.

If the parents are not married and the father is not named on the Birth certificate and they then marry later, the fathers name can be added after a declaration is made and signed by him confirming he is the father, it is NOT an adoption.

I am hoping somebody can help me, I use to use Genes for keeping a basic tree on, it has been a while since I have used the site, today I went on the site to see what trees had been shared with me and who I had shared with. I remember there use to be a facility to remove people you had shared with, I seem to be going round in circles trying to find this option, can anybody help please.

The Common Room / Re: Births registered in two surnames

If a birth is re-registered you can find it in the birth index 3 times, -  when it is originally registered, then after re-registration it will appear in the same year/quarter of original registration under new name and it will also appear again in the year/quarter birth was re-registered under new name, notes in the margin indicate this. Only the re-registered birth certificate will be available.

The Common Room / Re: FindMyPast subscription £10 for year

I find it hard to believe that you thought you was going to get a 12 month subscription for £10.00, some of you realised something was not right, because you repeatedly used the code to take advantage of the obvious error.
