What years and where please, I do have one circa late 1700s probably east end/London area.
Sorry found details on page one.
I think my Elizabeth Hopkins married William Jones 1794, however, may have matched her to the wrong husband.

hello David and others, Just asking if anyone in your Taylor family has done DNA? cousin Rhondda and I have done the autosomal one, and hopefully some of you guys can do the male Y one, this will confirm whether any or all of our Taylors have a common ancestor.
After testing with your chosen company, do download to gedmatch the common, pool for most of the commercial companies. no cost.

Flood/Plunketts. Without checking any years, families with both those name settled in Queensland Australia.
I was interested in them as my Irish Plunketts also settled in Australia, after Thomas semi retired from the Army at Malta.
Sometimes they just get away from us.

I also know my Thomas's brother James lived in Belfast in the mid 1800s, also living with him was his father, who I believe was George.

Regarding your question re whether your Mary is connected, apart the letter written to Thomas, and his Army records, little is proven.
Apparently DNA has some links to Catholic Plunketts which ours were not. happy to accept a change of religion occurred.
Talking of DNA c'mon Plunketts lets get our genes sorted.

I would not be overly concerned with discrepancies in Karori records, there are instances of incorrect information. While helping someone,I noticed an obvious one, a 9month old being a qualified carpenter, and when I advised them they said they would need a death cert to alter it. I ask you. If all matches disregard their website.
