Dear Pam

Very exciting news, Mary Waterworth came to Perth with her husband, we think maybe on the same ship as George and Elizabeth and her great grandson is living in Perth and we have made contact with them.  None of us can believe it yet!
Regards
Sue

Dear Pam
Just to let you know that we are making good progress.
The Waterworth family is the correct one thank you.   The marriage certificate gave Elizabeth's father's name as Richard a machine smith of Holbeck.  The certificate came to Perth from UK in under 10 days from ordering.

I have been going through my late father in law's album and it is making more sense now.  Unfortunately he did not date items or give any real information.  A real lesson for everyone to leave detailed records and not just 'four generations' or 'yours truly' as descriptions on photos and dates are a big help too!

Elizabeth Ann had a brother Richard who came to Perth and died here, he was known as Uncle Waterworth, my husband and his sister did not know his first name and the album only refers to him as Uncle Waterworth.  However I have now done a search for a Waterworth at the cemetery and found Richard Thomas who died in 1921 aged 77.

In the last 24 hours I have had contact through GenesReunited from someone researching, George Thompson Moss,  someone else researching Rebecca Crosdale his mother and someone researching the Waterworth family and is related to Mary Anne sister to Elizabeth and Richard.    So with all that information to come we will make great steps forward.
Thanks again for your help to get us started in the right direction.
Kind regards
Sue and Ray

:D Thanks for your help.  I have ordered the marriage certificate for George and Elizabeth, so hopefully that will have her parents names on it to help us track that side of the family.

Dear Pam
Thanks again for your help.
The blacksmith seems to be the right one, have had another look at the death certificate and under parents it has not known but has the words blacksmith.

Elizabeth was a lot younger than George, she was only 19 when they left England, and she was a widow a long time.

Where is the best place online to follow up all these leads with the details of which page to find them on?
Thanks again
Sue and Ray :D :D :D :)

Dear Pam
Sorry couldn't get back to you sooner.  Went to pick up the grandchildren from daycare, took them to their home, had dinner when their Mum and Dad got in from work, and have been home and been out for our daily walk!

Elizabeth died aged 92 in 1949 which would have made her birth year c1857 in Yorkshire.  We don't have any other information about her.  Although my husband has memories of stories about her working in the cotton mills at aged 8, one week working and one week at school.  The would walk home together and the middle one would sleep, supported by the other two.

No knowledge of any other Moss brothers coming to Australia, one brother of Elizabeths came and was know as Uncle Waterworth, and no knowledge of what happened to him.
We appreciate you assistance, we are quite new chums at this.
Regards
Sue and Ray

Thanks again Pam, I will look up the marriage.  Just received a copy of her death certificate today, but unfortunately did not have her parents names on it.

We are researching my husbands family, his great grandfather was George Thompson Moss b 1834, son of Richard Moss and Rebecca Crosdale of Leeds.

He married Elizabeth Ann Waterworth and they emigrated to Australia in about 1876.

Does anyone have any information on this Moss family or of Elizabeth Ann Waterworth who was also from Yorkshire.  Unfortunately dont have her parents names.

Any assistance we would be very grateful to receive.
