Thank you for your reply,  if you find any names that might link up the  McFarlane family in my tree,  would be appreciated.    Dannielle

thank you for your reply, but I do not think this is my James McFarlane, as in the 1841 census he was married to a Helen Blews in Johnshaven,. but so far I have not been able to trace where he was born.  Danniel

Hello Eileen - have just found your message regarding the Youngs of Johnshaven.  My grandmother was called Mary Ann Young and have traced the family back to 1756.  I was in Johnshaven last year. Are we  in any way connected. Danniel

My G-G-Grandfather JAMES MCFARLANE was according to the 1841.51,61 census of BENHOLM , KINCARDINESHIRE born in Kirkcaldy in 1800. I can find no trace of his birth there but there is a family rumour that he may have changed his name taking his Mothers name MCFARLANE and that he may have been born a WILSON.

Does anyone have these two surnames linked in their tree in the KIRKCALDY area around 1800?

Thanks,

DANNIELLE

Hello Irrett, yes I have all the children, but no firm birth dates for the couple or either of their deaths, or of course either of their parents!

This is my wall, I'd be glad of any help!

Thanks,

I am looking for more information on ROBERT GIBSON b.+/- 1743 in BEITH AYR and JEAN MARSHALL b. +/- 1747 in KILMARNOCK AYR. They married in KILMAURS on 10 June 1768.

Can anyone help me with anything else about these ancestors please?

Margaret!

I didn't read your second note! I've just repeated it back to you haven't I. Thanks for your help, yes, this is the ROBERT born in Beith that I'm now chasing. His first son born 20 Jan 1771 is my downlink.
