Kildare / Searching for William Dumphy/Dunphy
« on: Sunday 17 March 19 11:19 GMT (UK)  »
Previous posts about the following family
Searching for Mary Dunphy 1901.   Search was in 2014.

I am again trying to help a friend discover some information about the Irish side of her family. We have the 1901 and 1911 census records. Ann has copies of her Grandmother's Marriage and Death certificate also her Mother's Birth certificate. Is it possible to post images of the Certificates if that would be helpful. On the Marriage certificate surname given as Dumphy William's father is James Dumphy, Labourer.

Family names are, Great Grandparents John McCormack/McCormick and Anne Kelly. Grandfather William Dunphy. Grandmother. Marriage certificate 1899 Eliza McCormack Census 1901 Eliza Dunphy, Census 1911 Eliza McCormack, Death Certificate 1916 Elizabeth McCormack. Mother's Birth Certificate 1901, Father William Dunphy mother Lizzie Dunphy.

The person we are most interested in at present is Grandfather William Dunphy. Ann was told that her mother was an orphan when, her mother died in 1916, she then came to England with an aunt. We have no records for that period.

Thank you very much for your encouragement. The details of your post were just what I needed. I will now start the process of elimination. How can I change the Heading of the Thread to prevent further confusion? I am not searching for my Father's Paternal line here.

Hi Sarah,

Apologies. I have read my original post which was very confusing for the readers. I then became confused by the changes in the headings. By the time I read the post from Skoosh I had lost the plot completely. Thank you to all who tried to help me decide if I had found my mother's paternal grandfather. I would now like the thread to be closed.

Thank you, I have no idea where the above heading came from. From your post it looks as if I will have to accept that I will not know the name of my great grandfather. As the I said I am happy to know who my Great great grandfather was.
