Hi Lara
Sorry, haven't been on rootschat for ages. Anyway, I got the name of my Honora McCauliffe's father from her marriage cert. so reckon she could'nt be Catherine's sister. Dont know that place you mention but did read that the McCauliffes lived mainly around the Cork border with Limerick. Good Luck

Cork / Honora McAuliffe
« on: Tuesday 26 August 08 15:26 BST (UK)  »

   Hi All
Looking for the family of Honora McAuliffe born about 1840 in Cork County. Her fathers name was Bryan McAuliffe & he was a farmer, possibly in the parish of Knocktemple.   Honora married James Ling in London in 1859.  According to the 1871 census, living next door to James & Honora in London were Cornelius McAuliffe born 1813 & his wife Ellen, possibly relatives of Honora.
Any info on this family most welcome.

                                                    Thanks
                                                         Pete

There is a Finton Moore listed in griffiths evalution for Laois, townland-- Pallas Little, parish--Clonenagh & Clonagheen, think the year was around 1858

 Hi Lep
Yes. went there too and saw them. Also, there's a Dominick in the 1901 census for Mayo.Trouble is, I'm intent on working backwards rather than forwards. I want Dominick in Griffiths valuation to be the father of my great grandfather also named Dominick Griffin b 1825. My GG moved to Hull, Yorkshire around 1850 where most of his descendants still live. All I know about my GG's origins is that he came from Ireland. I know his father (Dom the elder) was a tailor, and that's it

                                                 Cheers
