Durham Lookup Requests / Re: TAYLOR'S 1700'S
« on: Wednesday 03 February 10 07:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I looked at Durham records online, unfortunately it added another hiccup into the search. I thought it would be a good idea to refresh my memory on the details of Thomas's birth and see if I could find any more details out about it and in the process found a new birth record which very likely could be his, with parents as William and Mary instead of Jane and Thomas. So I'm trying to figure out now how I can work out which one is really him. The birth to William and Mary was in Houghton (which is where all the census documents have him being born), the birth to Thomas and Jane is in Rainton.
I have searched for his death and can only find one record in 1872 in West Rainton that may fit. His wife Elizabeth died in the 1860's and I can only find one Thomas Taylor in the census since then in 1871 in West Rainton. I think I may have found a link to this record through his daughter's marriage.
Back to the drawing board!
Thank you.
Karen
