Hi Sue,
I can find nothing about this family, Elsie Selway was my step grandmother, she died Dec. 15, 1985. in St. David's, Ontario.
She had to marry after 1909 in Ont., Canada as her husband was still married to my grandmother at this time. I know my grandmother was remarried by 1923.
It is hard to get anything from Canada.
Thanks for the reply Sue.

England / Selway
« on: Friday 01 April 05 18:51 BST (UK)  »
Hello.
I'm trying to solve a mystery.
In 1985 in Canada, Mrs. Elsie (Selway) Stewart died in her 87th year. The obit list her brothers, Fred and Ernest Selway. They are not on the 1901 Canadian Census, so I figured they were still in England. She married Frank Stewart after 1909 in Canada.
How would I find this family with just the three kids named?

Thanks.

Scotland / Re: Duffan & Duffin

Hello Leagen.
The grandson of this Duffan or Duffin was married in N.Y. State in 1904, or so this certificate shows. I think Duffan and Duffin are the same name.
From researching the name I found it goes way back in English History, refers to "Brother of Dolphin", or son of Dolphin.
Thanks for the post.

Scotland / Duffan & Duffin
« on: Monday 29 November 04 18:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I have the Duffan name on my aunt's birth certificate, dated 1909 in Ontario, Canada.
I never knew this family line before, due to our different life styles.
From researching the name I found it is also spelled Duffin.
C.E. Duffan was the grandmother to Frank A. Stewart, my grandfather. I know the Stewart line was from Scotland and went to Canada.
Has anyone seen this name before?
Thanks.
