Hi Dj
Sorry no Neville Halse from NZ in my tree.   Well my Halse's came from Devon  and it is said that the name was given to someone living on a "neck" of land.

Cheers

Hi Twinkleberry

Thanks for your interest in my post.   It was very kind of you.

I did have most of that info as I too am in S.A. and have family contacts.
My main interest at the moment is James and Elizabeth King, parents of Robert and any siblings of Robert.

Thanks again for your interest
Cheers

Sorry Ben I haven't come across any although George is as far back as I could go.

So far I have discovered he had 3 daughters and one son Robert and he married Anna Green and settled in Milborne Port Somerset.
It was his son William Green Coombs that came to South Australia and began my sister inlaws Australian Line.

Hi  Deb and  Vicwinann

Thanks so much to you both for your trouble and patience.  Things are starting to fit together nicely now.

I now believe I was sent down the wrong path on another site and became totally confused.

Very much appreciated

Hi
Thank you for your prompt replies.

Debbie.... is there any record of the children of John Brown and Ann Preston(Presson). ?
Its a long and complicated story
but  William John Brown  was like a brother (or could be step brother or some relation)  to James and Absalom Brown who both came to South Australia with William and Jemima and their baby James.
on Absalom's death record it gives his mother as Ann Presson.
Absalom was born  1832 and James 1829.
