Hi,

I thought from the death cert of Robert his father was a miner so I would have thought that a butcher (as given on these baptisms) would not be him - how do you know Robert's mother was Margaret Williams??

hi,

The 1819 marriage is from the parish records.

It's about 12 miles between the 2 places however if you consider the bt. of Margaret in 1820 in Holywell then perhaps the marriage in Holywell is more likely.

Hi,

Common names so I hope this is the correct couple:

Holywell
Edward Jones bachelor of this parish and Margaret Williams spinster of this parish married by Banns 13th December 1819
Edward signed his name Margaret mark 'x'
witnesses Edward Jones his mark 'x' and Mary Hughes

there so many Jones' to search for children but tried the obvious

7th April 1820 holywell Margaret d. of Edward and Margaret Jones of Holywell; occupation a miner (couldn't see an Edward but so many!)

hi,

have looked for 'Enoch's" and 'Holts' for the baptism (in lymm & High Leigh) just in case he was called something else, and cannot find anything - sorry!

Lymm Parish church does appear to have his grandma's burial 1862? and perhaps Richards 1876? so a family plot may be an option.

Just a thought perhaps he was buried in Lymm because his grandparents came from there (Richard & Jane) and that when 'Newton' was given as his abode it was wrongly thought by the clerk to be Newton le Willows??

Hi,

Do you know Herbert's occupation  - I'm having trouble finding them in 1901 - if he was a carpenter then there is a possiblity that it has been mistranscribed.

hi,

The 1906 7a 198 is a Leicester registration; there is also a death of a Beatrice Dorothy  Biggs aged 1 in Poplar in 1906 so perhaps this is the March 1905 child who was perhaps given the name Dorothy at her baptism??
