I am looking for information & assistance on research in the village of Odell, Bedfordshire.

Is there anyone who has specific interest and/or knowledge of Odell on here?

I am researching (mainly) the Norman family from here (Thomas Norman b 1748, is my earliest ancestor) and am looking to develop my knowledge of them this year, as well as getting a picture of the village as a whole

Thanks for the input again.

As far as we know Priscilla never married and had all childeren to (possibly) different fathers, none of whom are named on birth cirtificates, yet she did manage to get them all baptised.

With Odell being a small village and a community, at that time, that made the poor wear the letters OP on their clothes, this does seem strange.

The other topic you linked to was one started by my sister, and at the bottom is my email.

I will keep looking !

Priscilla was buried 26 MArch 1850 in Odell

I am not sure about the other burials/dates you gave, these do not seem to match

Priscilla & family do appear in the census'

Do you have a copy of the page where you have her transcribed as Roman which you could email me?

This is one of the reason this part of the family history intreagues me so.....

Priscilla was baptised at 4 1/2 on the same day as martha, and yes it does seem that Martha may have been baptised twice (according to the records).

There were 5 sisters who were born/baptised as follows:
Susan, baptised 19 Sept 1793
Cressy, baptised 19 March 1796
Priscilla, baptised 25 Dec 1801, (b 1796) - as you have said
Martha, baptised 2 May 1798 (b 19 March 1798) - as you have said
Hannah, baptised 6 May 1802

I do not have info that Thomas was a widdower, have you any more info?

Yes I know about Hannah's son William, who was baptised on 11th May 1788

Any more info is welcome and appreciated

John,
Many thanks for the message
One possibility on the look up could be Thomas Norman (b abt 1748), who married Hannah Paine (parents of aforementioned Priscilla Norman) on 14 Dec 1791 in Odell

They are the furthest back I have on thisd branch of the family tree, and truth be known they intreague me !

Thomas would be my 5th G-Grandfather

Any info I would really appreciate
