Technical Help / Re: Cant attach photos

Hi Ted,

Every time you upload a file to RootsChat it must have a unique filename.  So if it has already been posted on the site,  or if you have tried to post it,  you need to alter the name.  It can be as simple as adding a number to the end to signify a version,  but it must be unique.

Hope that helps,

Kazza.

Hackstaple,

Great idea,  thank you.  I am not sure if Cardiff was a spa in 1901,  but suspect not.  ;D  Possibly an indoor spa of some kind though.  I will have to invstigate further.

Hi,

Another way to do it is to press the shift key as you click on the link,  this also opens a new window.

Thanks to Berlin Bob for that tip,  it works elsewhere too.  ;D

Suttontrust,

Have you made any progress here?  I think it is an extraordinary coincidence I have a chairwoman as well if it is a mistake.  Mine was in 1901,  not 1881 so it seems even stranger.  ???

We recently had a Family Fun Day,  as a church fundraiser.  We had all the usual stalls,  and attractions,  but we also had some silly sports that prooved very popular.

We made a maze from Hay bales,  did welly tossing.  There were lots of other ideas,  and we advertised it with all local schools,  the scouts,  guides,  and every local group we could think of.  We charged a small admission,  and had some free activities and charged for others,  with prizes.  The key was the advertising,  and we got leaders of groups to agree to bring a small group so we knew we would get a response.  We also encouraged them to make a stall themselves,  and donate some of their profits to us.

We tripled the normal fundraising amount and all had fun as well.  And the kids loved it.

Deadants,

Maybe you would like to make a new topic in the Technical board with your information and tips on colourising old photos?
