I've tried everything but it seems that I have two missing children on the 1911 census, I know they were alive then.  Any ideas as to why two toddlers would be missing?  If they were staying with relatives, would they not be included in their household census return?

Any ideas, thoughts would be gratefully received.

I'm hoping that someone will cast a fresh pair of eyes over the 1911 census for me.  I'm looking for the following boys..

Stanley Willshaw born 1908, Lancashire/Manchester
Alexander Willshaw born 1910 Lancashire/Manchester

Mother, Jane Willshaw born 1880, is listed as a visitor in the Robinson household.

Father, George Willshaw born 1880 is listed living with his father Enoch Willshaw.

Many thanks

I'm so happy that you have contacted me as I make very few contacts.

I would love to know EVERYTHING and to share everything that I have.

Hi Paulene and thanks I will also have a look at those links.

S Swan, there are some interesting threads on the 'travelling people' board,

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,387.0.html

I haven't researched very well but from my understanding a lot of canal families used the same church for their baptisms and marriages which makes sense to me....perhaps a bit of tradition and keeping to what you know  ???

However, some used the church that was near to where they were on the canal system at the time.  I think once you delve deeper you will see the same names cropping up in a few churches along the canal systems.

Good luck with your search

Fiona  :)
