Have just unearthed this photo of my late husband in his masonic garb.  We went with friends to Portsoy some years ago and whilst we were there our husbands visited one or two lodges so am hopeful that someone can tell me where this is.

Looking forward to hearing from some of you.

Wow Sandra you have been busy.  Thanks for the 1881 and 1891 census and the death certificates which are the ones I had found.

Regarding the 1881 census I haven't a clue who the other people are.  Must be blind but can't find the family on the 1891 census.

Thank you so much.  I will add the name to the Surnames interest list.

Yes Sandra that's the one.

Have just realised that I asked questions about this family in 2008!

Canada Lookup Request / McLeod/Macleod in Nova Scotia

I wonder if there is anyone studying this name.

I have a William Macleod married to a Jane Watson but don't know the date or whether they married in Scotland or Nova Scotia.  They were both born in Scotland.  Don't know when William was born but Jane was born circa 1816.

The children I know definitely about are Sarah Ann born 1848 in Nova Scotia, William c 1851 and Elizabeth Bethia c 1854.

I have found the family I think on the 1871 census for Nova Scotia District 201 Sub-District ?  Also on this census are some more possible children - Mary c 1844 and Daniel c 1847.  It also has my said William and Elizabeth but how can I prove it's the right family?

I have also found two death certificates one for Daniel W born 1849 died 1931 and a Henry? born 1851 died 1928 in Point Edward.  Both these certificates bear the name of the parents Capt Wm MacLeod and Jane Watson.

Here's hoping someone can help me.

I would just like to thank everyone for their efforts regarding my John Black.  I hope in time to sort through all the links and make a time line.  Whether I shall ever discover where he came from I do not know :P

Thank you for looking for me. I have had a look at Find My Past but once again can't find what I'm looking for!  Please could you tell me how you found these records.

You have been absolutely brilliant looking into this for me.  I must admit that I am a bit out of my depth here.

You are suggesting that I request a look up for me but I'm not sure exactly how to go about it.  Sorry to be such a wimp.  I'm not asking you to do it for me but just point me in the right direction!
