post.
There was a family of O’sheas living in Granard in Arvagh near Killeshandra, Co Cavan.
They were tailors, my father used to get his suits made by them when he lived in Ireland. :)
Don’t know if this is helpful.

This is a name I recognise, my Dad used to talk about the Gilpins in Killeshandra, Cavan.
I have Wilsons and Morrisons in my lineage.
My maternal grandfather was a Wilson and my paternal grandmother was a Morrison.
Don’t know if there any links here.

Found the inscription:
There is a tomb in Croghan cemetry Killeshandra (Co Cavan) with the following inscription on it :

"Sacred to the memory of Charles Haughton of Coromahon.  Died 13 May 1870 aged 69 years. 'Mark the upright and behold the just.  For the end of that man is peace.'  Also his wife Elizabeth Haughton.  Died 15th February 1887, aged 79 years.  'Blessed are the dead Which die in the Lord.'"

Elizabeth Haughton's maiden name was Elizabeth Arnold, she had a brother called  Richard Arnold who died ie25.10.1863 and another brother Robert but I have no details about him. The Arnold information came from a 2nd cousin who said that it had been provided by a genealogist many years ago.

KG ,you are a busy person.
Not only have you providing information on other parts of my family (Kelletts) recently, now I have more info on my Haughton and Arnold links.
Charles Haughton and Elizabeth Arnold were my great, great , great grandparents and are buried in Killeshandra, there is a tomb there.
Hallmark has pictures on his Cemetery pictures thread.
Look forward to hearing more.

KG,
You’ve been very busy on the Kellett family front and I appreciate your information, lots of it was unknown to me.
I have sent a personal message to RCDWE, after looking in my book it looks like the lady she is trying to help is probably a second cousin of mine.

Thanks again.
 :)

Cavan / Re: James and Matilda Kellett Morrison, Cavan

Hello,
My first time on RootsChat. I am trying to help a dear friend connect with family in Ireland, hopefully when we visit this September. She comes from the line of John Francis Morrison, son of James and Matilda Kellett. He emigrated to America in 1909, with another brother, William George, who followed in 1911. I have been able to locate the grandchildren of another brother, James Robert, but have not contacted them directly, but through a church in Glenageary.
I see MEW53 may be related, and hope she will respond to this post, along with any others who are from this line, or from Margaret Morrison's, who married James Veighey in 1919. From family notes, I believe their children are William, George, and Ida.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Rita
Welcome Rita,
My grandparents on my Dad’s side were Margaret Morrison and James Veighey, Margaret’s mother was Matilda Kellett. They had 3 children: William, George and Ida, George was my father.
My father told me many years ago that he had 2 uncles that emigrated before he was born to the USA. I am  in contact with a second cousin who’s father was the son of James Robert.
I’m a bit rusty on some of the information these days, but will check my family history book.

Hi Grace,
Looks like we are 2nd cousins, your Dad was obviously a first cousin of my Mum’s and Willy Veighey was a brother of my Dads.
Happy to connect have sent a personal message.
