Hi Everyone - Just to keep you all updated, I have been in touch with Gravesend Historical Society and they have no record whatsoever of this gentleman and they also say that the type of badge or insignia that he is displaying is not one which would have been used.
So, still at a dead end here at the moment I`m afraid !!

Hi - Thanks again for getting back in touch. I have her newspaper obituary but no names mentioned in there that help at all I`m afraid. I have also been in touch with Sussex Records Office who don`t seem to hold anything there with regards to newspaper clippings and have advised me to contact Hastings Library of which I am still waiting for a reply.
On the marriage certificate, it shows that they married in a registry office and so it would be quite safe to rule out any form of announcement in the local rags for this wedding although fingers are crossed. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of in the 1911 census but I have had no luck whatsoever. I have yet to check the Morley name but my subscription has run out !!
It has also been suggested that the `GHS` lettering mentioned in my previous post could mean that the said `Alleged` brother could have been a member of the Gravesend Historical Society which took that name in the 1950`s so it is quite a hopeful suggestion as it looks to me that the photo could have been taken in the 50`s or 60`s. Based on this I have e-mailed the society with an attachment of the photo to see what they think. Just waiting to hear back on that. The other thing that is making me thing is that under the `GHS` lettering are smaller letters `GM`. Could this gentleman be a Morley ? Maybe he was just a friend and not the brother. Maybe she was fostered out to a family by the name of Morley and took her mothers maiden name later in life, I just do not know. Would anyone like to check the 1911 census for me to see what Morleys are in Sussex in 1911 ?
I really do appreciate all of your comments and suggestions here and as you can see I am trying everything I possibly can but this is one tough cookie of a case to crack. I have been doing genealogy for about 8 years now and have never come across anything like this.
Thank you everyone

Hi - Would anyone be able to date this photograph for me please. Looking at the dress code of other individuals in the photograph my guess is it was taken around the 50`s or 60`s. I am not sure about his age either. He looks to be around mid to late 60`s but once again, I am not an expert which is why I am posting it here.
I can tell you that the photograph was taken on East Parade, Sussex and I have compared it to a modern photograph and most features still exist right down to the Pagoda that he is standing in front of.
Please could you also try to decipher what the writing on his badge means please ? I am not sure if it denotes some kind of school or organisation that he might be involved in and I am getting very frustrated with the whole thing.
Hopefully you guys can shed some light on this for me.
Thank you everyone

I have been scouring Google since the last post but cannot find any form of school or institution that would be represented by those letters. What makes me thik is that under the GHS initials there are smaller letters which say "G M". Was he a general manager of some place ? I have identified where the photograph was taken and compared it to a modern day photograph and it was taken at East Parade boating lake as you get to see the Hillside railway in the background too and the Pagoda he wa standing in front of still exists there today so at least I know that there is still some meat on the bones as far as the sussex connection is concerned. Maybe he is not a Stimson but a Smith as we have been given another photograph with an old lady in it with Louisa and have been told that this old lady was known as `Granny Smith`. Was Louisa really a Smith ? If so where on earth did she get the Stimson name from ? We have also been told that Louisa was in fact disowned by her family and did not have contact with her mother until later on and would always meet each other on the Sussex seafront so maybe it was the same case scenario with her alleged `Brother` !
This gets more confusing by the minute !
I will try the photo board and see what comes of it. Thanks for that tip.

My wifes Grandmother said that she had a brother and they called him Jim. My wifes Grandfathers name was G eorge H enry S timson which is what made me think that maybe Louisa had named her son after her brother after noting the GHS on the jacket.
I wish I could find a way to attach the said photo here but I don`t know how to do it !! [Stupid] !
I am getting very annoyed with the whole thing now because there just seems to be absolutely nothing at all !
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ! !! !

Oh dear ! As I suspected.
Can I presume that as there are no further replies here that this one has got everyone stumped ?  :'(
This is totally understandable and would like to thank you for your help so far but please bear me in mind if any of you should stumble upon anything you may think is useful.
Thanks again
Yours Hopefully

Hi - Just acquired Kathleens birth certificate. Born in Stone House (Same as George) and no fathers details entered (Same as George) !
With regards to Louisas Death, Newspaper reports reveal no clues, Coroners report and accident investigation report reveal no clues. Contacted the funeral directors who would have carried out her service and they checked their records and there are no clues there either !!
As for her brother, we have an `alleged` photograph of him and he is wearing a blazer type jacket with big letters `GHS` stitched onto the top left hand pocket. Maybe he was a George Henry Stimson which could be why Louisa named her first son the same. We have been told he was called James or Jim so this is quite confusing too. Apparently he died in the region of Aldershot or thereabouts but once again, trying to locate him is also very difficult. I am actually wondering if Louisa was born illegitimate and this man with `GHS` in the photo was the father to George, Kath and P...? !!
Her brother was supposed to have been younger than Louisa and we have also been told that she possibly had about two sisters but names not remembered !
What is it with this lady......sooooo mysterious and difficult.
Thank you

Hi - Yes she is clearly marked in all documentation as just plain `Louisa Gurr` and was a spinster at marriage. Witnesses to the mariiage were : AB Morley and J Morley.
Everyone we have contacted tell us they know absolutely nothing about her or her brother James (Jim) who is equally as hard to find. This is becoming an absolute nightmare as everything we try, we just hit a brick wall.
I am determined not to give up on this as it is now driving me to sheer distraction !!
Thank you for your help so far
