Hi Caitlin,
I think I have all the info (your Dad sent it to me a while ago!) so if KMA76 wants to I can fill them in on the details I have.

Armed Forces / Possible Canadian WW1 uniforms
« on: Sunday 30 September 18 15:29 BST (UK)  »
I have recently scanned this photo of two WW1 soldiers and an older lady.  I would be interested if anyone could identify the uniforms.  I suspect that they are Canadian, my grandfather and his brother both served with the Canadian army (I have downloaded their papers, 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles and RCAMC).
The photo was with some that were my grandmothers, I know that they are not her brothers (they served with the RNAS).  Hope someone can help, thanks

London and Middlesex / Re: Johnson family of Westminster

Hi Lentinker, lovely to hear from you!  I have done a reasonable amount of research on the Johnson family, and it would be great to collaborate.  I am descended from Sophia, who married William Almond.  I will send you a pm with my email address.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: Malim, Ann
« on: Monday 13 November 17 17:31 GMT (UK)  »
Many thanks.  I had a suspicion that they may come from Northampton, I'd seen a baptism that seemed to fit, and the will makes sense too.
Still can't Martha anywhere until her death though!

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Malim, Ann
« on: Sunday 12 November 17 19:17 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find this lady on the 1851 census so I can identify her birthplace.
She was born Ann Cau(c)kwell in about 1773, and married Mark Malim in Feb 1801.  He died in August 1849 ( I have the cert) and she died in Mar 1855 (I also have her cert).  His place of death was 10 Caroline Street Camden, she died 62 Great College Street Marylebone.  They had 5 children:
Martha Patty 1801-1888 (d. Fulham Place London)have this cert
Eliza Ann 1805- ?  no marriage or death found to date
Thomas Caukwell 1807-1891 d St Pancras, I have this cert
Georgiana Isabella 1809-1869 d 27 Camden Street Camden I have this cert
Ann Caukwell 1814-1814
I have tried to look for Martha, who remained a spinster, but she is also elusive.  Thomas married Laura Oliver and had 2 children.  He is also tricky to find in the 1851 and 1861 census.
Georgiana married William Harding, and I have with difficulty been able to track their movements through the relevent census.  William died in 1868, but they had 7 children and I know their whereabouts.
Would be grateful for any help!  Thanks

Australia / Watts family Adelaide
« on: Sunday 11 December 16 18:58 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I am wondering if SKS can help.  I am looking for the family of Percival Stuart Watts and his wife Josephine Mary Henry.  I already have copies of their obituaries thanks to a Roots member, but I would like to know what happened to their sons, one of whom was Barry Malim Watts.  The other two may still be alive, I don't know.  Barry's son Malim was a firefighter who died last year, and it's his obituary that says that Barry is deceased.  Percival and Josephine arrived in Australia in 1950, traveling with their three sons, and they seem to have settled in Adelaide.
Thanks for any pointers!

I also have an ancestor who went to South America.  He was a civil engineer and went to work building the railways there.(mid 1880's) He married and had three children there - their details were found in consulate records.  He died on board ship on his way back to England -details from deaths at sea. (1910)
It is a bit of a black hole, I have been lucky enough to make contact (through this forum!) with some of his descendants who are still in Peru.  Family search has some South American records, I am trying to make some sense of them - my Spanish is somewhat rusty!
Post details and you never know, a descendant may read it and get in touch!
