Walter NUTBEAM (born Winchester 1886), Private 7982 (enlisted Winchester 28 Oct 1905) 1st battalion, Dosetshire regiment was killed on October 12th 1914 aged 28, his brother Albert, who was in the same regiment buried him where he lay (Anyway that was what I was told), so his body was not given a proper burial and it is still there in France.
The military record is one of those that has been lost in WW2, and the Keep Museum Dorset can only confirm that he was killed on the Pont-Fixe-Le Planatain Rd between Bethune and La Basse. Any information on where the regiment was from 1905 to 1914? Or any other info?
I have information on where he was born mother, father, marriage, census returns etc

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / CHARLES FOSTER
« on: Saturday 10 January 09 13:47 GMT (UK)  »

Hi
Any ideas about an ancestor Charles Foster (sometimes spelt Forster) born abt 1851 (died 1898 Winchester) Kingsbury London Middlesex (this is on his military service record). On his Marriage Certificate in 1873 his Father John Foster, is given as deceased and was a Stonemason, but I cannot find Charles's birth Certificate or who John Foster was or anything about the family.
Kingsbury is or was a district in London but would it have been a birth registration area?
Charles married Emily Clara King in Portsmouth 1873. He was in the 77th Middlesex Regiment then the 67th Royal Hampshire's had three children.
Charles  born Tamil Nadu Bangalore India abt 1878.
Elizabeth Clara Mary born abt 1881 Tamil Nadu Bangalore India.
Rose Susan born 1888 WInchester, I know a bit about her, but nothing about Charles or Elizabeth.
Charles and Clara spent 14 years in India any ideas about what their life would have been like?
