Hi Chris,

Would it be possible for you to tell me if there is a gravestone for my Great Uncle, Jackson Millar? He died on 15th December 1958 and according to his death notice he was buried in Hillfoot Cemetery.

Many thanks,

Diana

Oops! Apologies! I forgot I had said already about the Merchant Navy bit.
Many thanks for your help MaxD.

I have passed on this information to my friend and am waiting for a reply as to what he would like to do. We are in touch by email. I have offered to search on Ancestry for him too.

I will be in post when I hear from him.

Thank you again for all your help.

Kind regards

Diana

Thank you very much for the comments.

I am asking for a friend. I am told that he was in the Merchant navy. Strange seeing as he is Scottish/Canadian.

Kind regards

Hi Everyone

I am hoping that someone can tell me how I can find out if this cap badge is American, Canadian or British? The man in the photograph was born in Scotland in 1904 and emigrated to Canada in 1923. He served in the Merchant Navy in World War II.

Many thanks for any help or advice.

Kind regards

Diana

Ps. Sorry attachment is huge. If anyone knows how to reduce it please let me know.

Hi Everyone
Would someone be able to tell me who I should contact re the lair records for Catrine Churchyard? I have a picture of a gravestone from there which has two names I can't seem to find anything about. I think they will have died as infants but can't find them in the OPRS.

Many thanks

Diana

Many thanks Donnie for the info. I have just discovered today that they have a RM users Facebook page too so I shall try them.

Cheers
