Armagh / Re: Armagh Marriage 1844
« on: Friday 19 December 08 15:47 GMT (UK)  »
I have checked Birth certificates for later children; all indicate 19th December 1844 Armagh.
Upon checking Death certificates it would appear that Alexander's father was Francis Tait (Linen weaver) and not Joseph.
I was under the impression that the family were Presbyterian however one of Alexander's daughter Lucinda was married in accordance with rites of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
Researching is good fun, isnt it!
I shall follow up with whatever info I have gleaned after the Christmas holiday.
Good night and God bless.
Bill.

I am trying to bridge the gap betwen Scotland and Ireland.
I have a record from a Scottish birth certificate that parents Alexander Tait & Mary Connelly/Connally were married (19th Dec 1844 Armagh)
Any help as to where I can obtain details would be appreciated.
TIA,
Bill.

Lanarkshire / Re: Tait family from Ireland 1840+

The Tait family on the 1881 Census lived at Neilsons Land which I believe is now part of Coatbridge. Alexander was employed as a Railway Signalman.
I have the lineage from Alexander and his wife Mary Connelly down to present living relatives.
I am endeavouring to place his antecedents in Ireland. His parents were Joseph & Jane (Currie) Occupation Linen Weaver.
Regards,
Gwyn.

Lanarkshire / Tait family from Ireland 1840+
« on: Monday 08 December 08 16:23 GMT (UK)  »
I have the Tait family recorded from (1840) to present.
I am trying to establish from where in Ireland they originated.
Alexander is buried in Old Monkland (New Burial Ground) Lair 28-S, 1884.
I understand that there is another Tait buried there also.
It would be appreciated if sks could have a look ( I live in Gloucestershire ) and let me know to enable me to do my research laterally.
TIA,
Gwyn.

Sussex / Re: Advice on Birth Certificate follow up

I have traced the Lloyd-Davies element via New Zealand back to Carmarthenshire.
Kathleen Fiorenza Vittoria Servatt Heard married RR#2 in 1921.
KFVS was the daughter of Robert Wilkes Heard who was a member of the Heard family of Pallastown House, Kinsale, Co Cork.
I am unable to locate her Death Certificate nor her Birth Certificate.
If you can share what information on the "market gardening" you have would be appreciated to enable me to fill out my notes.
TIA,
Bill.

Richard Rangi did in fact die before his son was born.
Richard was born in Seaford in 1931.
Would be most interested in any info you are able to share.

Yet again many thanks to you all.
I have ordered the Probate Records and am awaiting the postman.
Surprised to learn that there is no record on Richard Rangi.
Rangi being a Maori name as I understand.
Regards,
Bill.
