Thank you Andy for your very quick reply ,That is my g,aunt Ellen ,she was my g,ma.s sister ,when her brother Patrick died in 1934 she was the one who registered his death she gave her address as 35a west derby st l,pool I have tried to track her with this address but had no luck how can I find out when she or her husband died Patrick was,nt married and they were catholics .Thanks again Andy and all the team for being so helpful I will look up the Lancs bmd also the l,pool history projects marriage index I may get lucky Joanna :) :) :) :)

Hi I,m Joanna looking for the marriage of Ellen  Murphy b Ireland 1873 to  Thomas ? Carroll in Liverpool 1900 I dont know where or when he was born I have tried the 1901 census but with no luck ,hoping you can help .you have all helped me inthe past ,for which i am very grateful .Thank you. :) :) :) Joanna

Thank you so much Posteria for your quick reply for M Mcleary I have been trying for a long time to find info on him ,as I said his nephew Patrick (Paddy) Dolan age 43 died on the M ,V ,Harpagus when it was torpedoed on 20/may/1941.he was a greaser ,my dad Mick Dolan last saw Paddy in jan of that year .Ihave looked on your irish mariners for Paddy but it wasn,t on though I did find my dads the only thing is it gave his birth as 14 /9/1874 instead of 14 /9 1894 i did send them an email regarding this but didn,t get a reply ,Thank you again Posteria you are all wonderful and very quick with your replies . Hi I am looking for any info on m mcleary only have initial for first nsme maybe michael /martin living in south shields 1941 born in ireland but dont have an age I am looking for a marriage or death certificate for him he was uncle to patrick dolan killed at sea in 1941 .I would be very grateful for any help you can give me ,You have given me a lot of help in the past for which I thank you for ,joanna  :) :) :)

hi I have been looking on the pilot post of igi ,if you think you have found one of the family how do you go about getting more info to make sure you have the right one? :) :) it is a great site if you are sure .I clicked on the name and all the numbers come up ,film no volume ,and so on I would be very grateful as to what to do next ,Thank you, you are all so helpful  rootschat is the best site ,and you allways try to answer any queries ,Thank you

Hi Earnest I haven,t been in touch with Southampton office about my dads card I ran through the list of sea men on there and he was there, someone looked him up on one of the ships listed and it gave his home address and it was the house I was born in ,there wasn,t a photo of him in the list which was a pity .The ship was called Vauban of Liverpool  (Lamport& Holt)among others he was on the 1/6/1921.Thanks for getting in touch. Hi Teresa thank you for your quick reply regarding my dad I would be very grateful if you could send me any thing you have on him and the ships he was on did you want my email address or home one .as for mary ellen dolan that was her name when she went to the u,s,a she married edward franklin ellis in 1903 in medford boston  mass she lied on the marrage cert that she was 24 when she was really 27 I have tried to find her on the 1900 census but had no luck but did find her on the 1910/1920 census .

Hi Teresa for the info on my dad ,you have the right one ,was he part of the crew or a passenger on the lapland ?and where can I get more information on him and the ship if he was a passenger .Thank you so much for that I really was,nt expecting to hear any more i,d be grateful for anything you can find ,maybe you could tell me where his mother applied for her passport to go to america about 1896/9I have tried england & ireland ,her name was mary ellen dolan b1875/7 in brideswell athlone roscommon and what ship she went over on its been very hard tracing her though she ended up in medford boston where she lived and married and died ,thank you once again best wishes Joan   :) :) :)
