« on: Saturday 10 September 11 02:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi Mike ,
I had a look online for his baptism but found nothing.

Huntingdon is now in Cambridgeshire , did you mean the parish of Earith (Bluntisham ) I beleive the church records for there are held by the Huntingdon FHS maybe some one local to the area could do a look up for you.
Does his marriage certificate give his fathers name ?

Hi Trevor ,
Nothing showing for a baptism in Halifax for Joseph Booth . Do you have his age at death to narrow it down ?

1 Birstall  1668
1 Calverley  1673
1 Sandal Magna 1663

Many thanks for the book Mike which arrived today.
From it I did learn that John Campleman was Harbour Master from 1845 until his death in 1873.
Thanks again

Lancashire / Re: 1841 Census John Briercliffe

The marriage gives his address as Cheetham Street and hers as Smallbridge.
Cheetham Street still exists in Rochdale as does the area of Smallbridge.
So I checked Rochdale baptisms nothing for John Briercliffe , also checked John's b Rochdale 1802 +/- 2 years , a few Breirley/Brearley's  but nothing similar to Briercliffe.

It looks like Hannah was baptised 28 Dec 1806 daughter of James Belfield and Fanny of Smallbridge. Fathers occupation weaver.
I think Hannah is living with daughter Elizabeth and family on the 1851 n Fleet St.Salford , described as widow year of birth abt 1807 . Very bad image hard to read.

Can find no burial for John , just 1 death in Salford after 1837 but is a bit late as 1859. I will have another look around to see if I an find anything further.

Lancashire / Re: Cleveland, Crumpsall

Hi BucksExile.
There was a union Poor House in Crumpsall which later became a hospital . Can see no mention of it being called Cleveland though ,. If I try googling Cleveland Crumpsall all I'm getting is a hotel and local housing associations.

Hello Spacot,
Does your offer still stand for look ups for Innerwick MI's.
If so I would be grateful for a look up for Margaret Tory died 1826 and anyone else buried in the same grave .
Many thanks

Hi ,
Are you sure she was born 1874 ?
If she married 1885 , 11 years old seems a bit young to marry . What age does it say she was on her 1907 death cert ?

Lancashire / Re: Calderstones Mental Hospital

My husband's family come from Radcliffe . I have just spoken to my MIL who's in her eighties and she knows nothing of a mental hospital there.
There was however one at Radcliffe on Trent Notts., I think it was called Saxondale.
You may find more information on the Nottinghamshire boards.

This link may give you more help re Lunatic Asylums.

The Florence Nightingale Hospital was just a little cottage hospital .
