Hi , Am hoping someone could help me . I am trying to find any information ( other than what I have ) on John Douglas born Aug. 1805 in Glencairn , Dumfries , Scotland , married Dec 1824 in Glencairn also to Ann Milligan , now this is where I get confuse some people that are researching the Douglas family say John`s parent are John Douglas and Janet McMurdo , but then you have others saying his parents are John Douglas and Jane/Janet Carruthers.

It is even to find information in the 1300 to 1700 years about his parents .

Thank you a head of time to everyone with many thanks .

It is likely that the second initial in his regiment is a C, Royal Canadian Army Service Corps.

That said, a search of the Canadian military archives, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Findagrave and Ancestry /FindMyPast turn up blank.

Does his headstone have a date?

You mention contacting the Canadian military.  Was it the veterans affairs element which is the best place to go?  http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/contact

His parents were John Fell Austin and Helen Austin ( nee Douglas ) Or he could of put his step father on the form also maybe his name was Hugh BIngham . I was also told that George and his first wife had a daughter not sure when he was married it was between 1928 to 1940 in Canada.

I tried contacting the Canadian military have not heard from them and it has been 6 months now .

Thanks for the help
