Thanks all

Mid Couland was my thought initially.  You've confirmed it for me.

Hi RootsChatters

Can anyone decipher the attached entry on an 1863 Parish of Falkland, Fife, Register of Births for me please?

My thoughts are: "1863 June Fourteenth (time isn't relevant) Mid Couland"

Over to you

Wow!  Thanks Sandra  :o

I didn't expect any follow-up to this enquiry, but delighted to have it to add to James's entry in my records.

On an aside ... the mention of 'Kirkwood' is surprising as 'new' members of this branch living in the Cellardyke, Fife area have the surname Kirkwood.

Stay safe - we will get through this.

Hi all

Regret to say this looks like it's going to remain a brick wall.  My letter to Lewis Drummond Adams has gone unanswered.

Good morning and many thanks to everyone for their input.

After many years of trawling websites in search of them I have, at last, demolished the brick walls that Thomas and his brother had become.  Both have appeared in numerous South African records.

My (aged) 2nd cousin will be delighted with the outcome as well.

Thanks TreeSpirit

Great find. Jessie and Marjory just complete the demolishing of George's wall for me.

I've managed to trace his brother Thomas to South Africa as well so bonus points all round this morning!
