Rutland Lookup Requests / Re: Croden of Ridlington
« on: Saturday 01 August 09 16:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi again,
This pure coincidence but while doing a 1881 census search of Ayston I came across a family of Crowden's I don't know if they belong to you or not.
Ayston is a very small village app 2miles from Ridlington and Preston.
Here's what it showed.

John Crowden  Head  Farmer of 200 acres Born Morcott c1821
Dinah                Wife                                    Born Edith Weston c1821
Robert               son    Farmers son             Born Seaton c1865
Lucy                   daughter                           born Seaton c1860
Sarah J? Crowden                                       BornSeaton c1864?

Let me know if this is of any help
Regards Kim

Do try it a lot of knowledgeable people on there.
I actually live 10 mins away from Ridlington if I can do anything else let me know.
There are still Crowdens in the area.
Happy hunting Kim ;)

You could try this http://rutnetforum.freeforums.org/.
Rutland C.C closed the old forum because of abuse or something but some members set this site up give it a try.
Good luck Kim :)

Aug 14 1899 Register office South Shields.

father of mary Jane - Joseph Bruce

you had me worried there thought i had gone completely down wrong track.

According to marriage cert Mary was 21 Michael 23 I know that does'nt mean much as people did lie about their age.
I just wish i could pick up the Irish connection put to no avail yet  :'(

Hi I should perhaps make a correction Michael came to Hartlepool, it was his son Michael who moved to Jarrow.
Michael Snr married Sarah Coyle.
