Hi Mel ..
Thank you for your message .I have been working on my family tree for many years now ,but not done much for a while and I am a bit rusty with all the names .
Irene is my Great Grand Aunt  ...Might you be related via Henry Cartwright? who married Dolly Hillman ?

Thankyou all for the replies .
You are right Genealiza it is Pelham my spelling mistake

Hi Sandra..some of your message makes sense but Arthur was in the Military1915-1919 .

Arthur did originate from Rickerscote, Stafford and Mr G Hill was his uncle.
Seems that Arthur was not married and travelled to and from UK/USA a number of times ..I was hoping he might have had a family in USA..

Aghadowey...I have seen the information on Pelham Manor

Hoping for some help .
I have found a family member, Arthur Stannard, born 1884 ,Stafford England . He worked as a Stud Groom at Bolton Priory ,Pelton Manor , New York .
It appears he came to New York around 1905 , then in 1915 his employer paid his passage  to UK and he volunteered to fight for his country  , then after the end of WW1 he returned to NewYork  Nov 10 1919.
His ex employer Fredrick Allen again paid his passage .
I was hoping to find more information on Arthur after his return , is there anywhere I could access that might help in my search ?
Any help appreciated

Dave

Morning Chris

Looks likely that Richard is going to keep his secerts a while longer yet ..I have recently retired so am hoping to be able to have a little extra time to pursue the family tree again .. I did go to Dudley archieves a couple of years back but found nothing . I suppose that Dudley as we know it ,is nothing like Dudley as it was back in 1764..Maybe need to research the geograpical areas more to see what area we might truely be looking for ..Have you ever found any possible parents or siblings for Richard .. and what  children did you find for Richard ?

Hi Chris .
Thanks for your reply .I have continued my research on the Hillman's ..Mostly from the Stafford area with some migrating to Stoke around 1900/1910.and  few to Canada .
I have as yet not got any further back than Richard Hillman c 1764.
So do you have a marriage for a Richard Hillman of Dudley to a Mary or Margaret Shaw ?
I have a marriage as I mention in an earlier post but never found any further details ..Have you researched any of  Richards desendants ?
