Hi Ainslie,
That's very useful information which should prove handy for other searches in the future. I am happy to say that I just received a copy of my relatives marriage certificate which gave me the answer to my question! In actual fact the vicar in question was from St. James Pontypool and his name in case it will ever help anyone else, was Goronwy Gower.
I do appreciate your time and trouble in helping me. :) :)

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I did try but I still haven't had any luck in finding out if there IS a burial plan of the church.
Thanks anyway.

Hi,
Does anyone know if the churchyard in Holy Trinity Littlebury has been mapped? It's so far from my home but I had a recent chance to look for the headstone of my grandpa's brother buried there in 1918. I had no luck and found other headstones of that era quite legible. George died age 32 of Spanish 'flu, age 32 and after being married for only 4 months so it was a tragic end.
I hope that someone could point me in the direction to hopefully locate his grave. :)

Hi,
Does anyone know how I could find the name of the vicar at St Cadocs Trevethin in 1915? My grandparents were married there.
Thank you so much
 :)

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage EARLEY W. Grimstead

Carole,
Sorry to take so long to reply and thanks for your input. I would not dismiss the nephew's info so lightly. As I said my mum told me that the name was Wetherby Williams and as a source she was quite independent from the nephew. There has to be some truth but I have to give up the search as I am baffled as to why I cannot find a marriage for Elizabeth Jane in the GRO index. It was said that she was married by her 20th birthday hence 1896 was a good starting point. Obviously I have tried either side of this year.
Sometimes one has to admit defeat! I can only hope to stumble on a descendant on one of the sites.
Thank you for your efforts. Anniejay

Carole,
The info re Willoughby Williams  and Elizabeth came from her nephew who did a lot of research on his family which included the Earleys of this generation. It was he who wrote in a book on his relative who married into this family ( private publication) about Elizabeth's marriage and taking up residence in a country mansion in Devon. My own mother believed that her aunt had married someone with surname of Wetherby Williams while this nephew thought it was Willoughby Williams. I understand that they had 3 children including names Margaret and Nancy. The approximate marriage date was based on info from this private publication.
It's an impossible task I know with so little positive info.

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Marriage EARLEY W. Grimstead
« on: Saturday 10 April 10 18:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I've searched unsuccessfully on line for the marriage of my gt. aunt Elizabeth Jane EARLEY born WEST GRIMSTEAD 29 Feb 1876 father Charles Earley to a Wetherby or Willoughby Williams some time around 1896 ( not exact year ) I posted an entry in the Devon board as I was told that the couple moved there. I do not know for sure that she married in her own parish. I think he was a barrister- maybe they married in SALISBURY as the village is near enough? I've tried various permutations of her possible married name in the 1901 and 1911 census without luck. I'm not sure if he had a given name either!
Can any kind person help? It would be great. :) :)
