Carol,

My mistake.

I only have the date of the Marriage from the LDS Familysearch website. All information otherwise has been gleaned from subsequent Census lists.

Thanks,

Colin

Hello Carol

No witnesses stated.Only info is Vol 12 s.lic  15th Feb 1808. This is from Ancestry.co.uk  Notts Parish and Probate records.

Thanks.

Hello Carol

Have just checked the 1861 Census and you are correct about Carlton-in-Lindrick being stated as his birthplace. I was looking at an earlier census 1851 which just says Carlton.

How do I appeal for someone to check this for me?

I have discovered a Thomas Winks marriage to Millicent Key in St Mary's Nottingham in 1808.
This could be David's father. Pure speculation at the moment but the dates are interestingly close.
Don't know if you can help with this one?

Carol,

Further to David Winks I wonder if he was born in Carlton-on-Trent. Would you have any details of this town or point me in the right direction.

Hello Carol,

Sorry you can't help me with David Winks.

Please can you advise the details of Richard and Ann and parents if possible at Barnby.. Hope I'm not being too much of a nuisance.

Hello Sunflower,

Thanks for the reply.

His birth-date is assumed from the 1851 Census as 41. Living in Worksop at Potter Street with wife Ann and his children.
His occupation is a shoemaker and shows his place of birth as Carlton.

The details you have given are for Edward Winks and Anne Gilberthorpe in Carlton. My original thoughts were that David had the same parents but don't think that is the case. Maybe they are related in some way though?

Can you please advise me of the parents of Edward born 1776? and Ann also.

Can anyone help with a Parish Register lookup for David Winks born Carlton-in-Lindrick, Notts 1810.
He married Ann Wall in Worksop in 1830.

I am trying to find his parents and grandparents.

Thanks,

ColinT
