Hi, many thanks for all your help so far,,,  :) i suppose i will just have to plod on with my search, the only relative who would remember anything is my uncle (Alices son), but he is 100 years old and his memory for dates and places isn't what it used to be ::).my Aunty ( Alices daughter) used to have loads of photos and information, but when she died her son threw them all away >:(,  (long story,,bit of a family fued). I dont think the boarding house keepers are going to be of any help,,, i have tried the church she was christened in but cant find out who the vicar is at the moment,,i e-mailed  the person who is listed on a church site but the -mail was returned" not sent".Back to the drawing board for me i think,,,,,, i will not be beaten ;D

Hi,,i have the sarah butlers name from her death records and aother family members,, my uncles middle name is butler as well, which i believe was common practise to include a family maiden name as a forname,,.Alice in 1891 is definately my grandmother,, she boarded in Caersws while her mother Sarah worked at nearby Maesmawr Hall as a cook.I dont have the full christening details ,, all i know for sure is that she was christened in 1897 in Caersws on september 12th 1897 age given as 14 yrs,, she was baptised by Rev Kyffin Williams and it was the service of Adult Baptism. best wishes Jean

hi Lloydy,,, have had a look in there and its very confusing trying to actually see everyone on there, (need my glasses on).my maiden name was Mills and my Grandfather (James MIlls) married my Grandmother in Welshpool on 1905.my Grandfather came from northampton, so i dont think he is the same family of mills you have in your surname interests.. They moved to Shrewsbury in about 1910 and lived in Elm Street, Greenfields.    jean
