Hi Dotty
      Ann Beattie{Kelly} 1851 census rg9/3789 19 32 Montrose Scotland
      Ann Reid {Kelly}     1861 Durham
      Ann Reid {kelly} 1871 Durham
I have just recieved her death certificate. She died 1872 age 46yrs
The census ages have her being born in either 1826{also Death cert} or 1829

Thanks for keeping an eye out  for me. It's baffling there is no trace of her at birth

Hi Dotty, thanks for the reply. I really do not know.I am sort of guessing that the Kelly's just in the name itself could of arrived from Ireland and i'm wondering about the connection to Scotland, wether it was just Ann who moved there for any other reason than courtship/marraige or her family. I have no info on James apart from being a soldier noted on Ann's marraige certificate to Andrew Reid.
i do not know of their religon.
I seem to have hit a brick wall

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Wigan parish registers Ann Kelly birth search
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 00:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I'm trying to find Ann Kelly's birth but with no success.
I know she was married to David Beattie in Montrose Scotland 1848 and remarried to Andrew Reid in 1854 in Tynemouth Northumberland and lived in south Shields after
She appears in the 1851 census and 61 and 71 as born in Wigan Lancs although one  reads Lincolnshire Wigan or possible Nocton .
I'm not sure about the 1841 census although there is an Ann Kelly aged 15 but no other family and i believe she is a servant.
The igi does not seem to have any mention that i can find.
Her father is James Kelly a soldier as noted on her second marriage.

So if anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks
Mick sunny Adelaide !

« on: Saturday 19 September 09 05:33 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for your input Geoff. It's not easy to read wether it's Wigan or not but i havn't much experince with this.
I wish i could find Ann's birth but nothing shows up for Wigan.

With her father {James being a soldier is there any military record keeping  that might help me , that might establish who he married.

Lincolnshire / Ann{e} Kelly puzzled ?
« on: Friday 18 September 09 13:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to find Ann[e] Kelly birth and mothers name.
On the 1861 census her birth place is noted as Lincolnshire Nocton but in 1851 and 1871 we have Lancastshire Wigan. I know her father is James a soldier noted on her second marraige to Andrew Reid /Ann Beattie in 1854 in Durham

It looks like Ann was born in approx1827  Can anyone through any more light on this or any suggestions ?
Regards
Mick
