This new rule puts us in a dilemma, son & daughter in law live a few miles from us but they have 3 children so we can't legally meet up with them!  Do they leave the 3 year old at home because he's most likely to not obey the 2 metre rule or do we do a Cummings and bend the rules?  Any thoughts?

Usual start drinks in bed but 2 partridge wandered past our window never seen that before! Check the ewes still to lamb and behold one in labour so all plans cancelled! Eventually 2 lambs born with a bit of help from oh. Lovely to see them prancing around but one more ewe to lamb so sit and wait for developments!!

Bad day OH broke a bit of his elderly tractor... didn't hear what he said but he wasn't too happy!
Lunchtime and as I was nibbling around a hard kiwi fruit there was  crack and I had lost half a front tooth. In self isolation because of our age so no sensible hope of repair but at least it doesn't hurt!
Saw a swallow this afternoon so can't be too bad!

Gillg I had the same problem we used Skype years ago when we were travelling but have not used for years. I couldn't get it to work yesterday so I set up a new account using a different email address and it seems to have worked but haven't had any calls yet!

No loo paper locally this morning and I heard that the nearby 'orange' supermarket had no pet food on the shelves yet more to worry about!
Look out for local free advertising papers which in our area are stacked outside shops, ours comes out on a Friday so we usually pick up a handful primarily to light the woodburner but may need to use elsewhere!

The Lighter Side / Re: Why can't I sprinkle ashes
« on: Thursday 13 February 20 11:51 GMT (UK)  »
When my mother in law died she wanted her ashes to be sprinkled on her parents grave no problem we thought but yes a hefty sum of money would be charged.  Husband thought it would be easier to sneak in and do it ourselves.  Picture it a middle aged couple, giggling, one in a thick coat I it was  July but the container had to be hidden, we were looking furtive searching the graveyard for the correct grave.  Having found it I was on lookout and husband getting the job done.  We haven't had much to do with ashes but the container of the ashes was an old fashioned big sweet jar and it was full,  no little puff of ashes which could be dispersed in the grass easily it was pretty difficult to cover up. We'd like to think mother in law was watching us laughing her head off.
