Hello SCH,
Your Edward  1816 was son of Edward and Hannah Ridout married 1802.  Hannah died 1845.
Am hoping you have found more info after all these years  ;D  ;D
Anyway, my Thomas Brinecome was born about 1804. I think he may be another brother to your Edward?
Such a muddle with all those different spellings and even worse transcriptions!

Hilary

A marriage on Free BMD, December quarter 1840, Portsea Island, includes an Edward Brimscome and a Mary Pouley. Would they be likely candidates?

Just To add that I am researching Charles and Charlotte's son William bap at Harefield in 1803. He married Ann Bowler 1823 in Rickmansworth and died at West Hyde in 1875.
His Meads went on to live in Croxley Green.

I also wondered about he gap between Charles 1809 and Ruth 1819.

Both Charlotte and Charles died in 1824, buried within two days of each other aged 45 and 43.

oooo could well be that Mary never had a husband called John.....  ???  Maybe made up his name after having an illeg child John? Worth looking into i think  8)

There is a burial of a John TRUBSHOE in 1803 aged 5 months,in GT Dunmow, it says son of Mary TRUBSHOE, no father mentioned. I wonder if this is the mother of Charles, who may have invented a non existent husband.

We already had found them all a few years back!   ;D   I've had huge job trying to convince people that Sophia was not married when she had 7 illegitimates in the workhouse nor did she marry a William Trubshaw. Nor was her father Charles Bright!
I think i replied to a post to dancing lady 2013 letting her know and who married who but not sure if she's seen it.
Interestingly Charles Grubshaw was convicted as you say for stealing corn, but his accomplice John sorrell wasn't! I thought he may have been a brother to Charlotte?
Sophia Trubshaw  eventually married a John Nokes in Shoreditch in 1869. Interesting to see she was in Islington workhouse couple years before (perhaps another baby!)  :o

amondg I didn't know about the Bethnal Green settlement papers. Thanks.   :)  Wondering about the dates of Mary Trubshaw marriage to William Bright though as familysearch has it as 2 nov 1812 !!

But as for dancing lady's original post...still can't find anymore on Charles's father John, nor Mary's maiden name. At the time i didn't have time to search any further at ERO. Had no film...were the original parchments falling to pieces. Must go back!

Hi Eric,
Yes amondg gave you that info earlier.

"He first married Hannah Gibson 7 December 1827 at Great Waltham, she was buried 25 March 1836 age 30.
Great Waltham Parish Records"

Hi amondg,
You did a great job on this findiing that 2nd Marriage. At least other Trubshaw/Grubshaw descendants will find this info in the future :)

~Well, what a surprise.  :'(  Every online tree i have found regarding Richard and Elizabeth Waghorn are all incorrect. Confusion appears to arise from grandson William Richard. He has incorrectly been added as a child to Elizabeth Charlotte even though her son was called William Henry. And would you believe, some trees have him as "William Richard (Henry) Waghorn"!
anyway, took time especially with the inter marriages (Waghorn men remarrying cousins' wives' sisters) but all sorted now. Thanks for the tip Annette re the indexes. Huge help.  ;D

woops! am jelly brain today. I couldn't access it because I hadn't logged in!
oh dear...

Hello Annette
thanks for the info but....cannot find the index anywhere! Could you send me the link?
thanks so much.
Yes, all the trees online at Ancestry are wrong. most have guessed parents etc and marriages. I did start trying to correct them with proof but was too much!

Hilary

However, according to the birth entry for their son Henry Robert Waghorne June quarter 1840 Malling on GRO's own site (now showing mothers maiden names) Elizabeth's maiden name was Archer - also confirmed by Elizabeth Charlotte's birth entry in 1837.
