I am sorry Mary I don't have the time for this.    My reference to Rootsweb was very obviously a typographical error, there really isn't any need to continue this thread.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.  I must try to be more careful in future.

I am sorry but I was replying to your enquiry regarding charges by a professional researcher for information obtained from this forum which was posted today at 12.56.09pm.

I have no idea why your message was posted on this thread, it referred to information supplied by Mo from the Flixton Parish registers and I replied accordingly.

Perhaps we have our wires crossed, for which I apologise, but these threads are clearly outlined on this forum.

Your enquiry to me bore no connection to my previous enquiry about the Flixton baptisms but you were asking about professional research charges and I replied accorfdingly.

Hello Mary A

Your post is very interesting but I am sorry I cannot answer it accurately as my enquiries on this forum are purely for my own family tree.  I have no idea what charges a professional researcher would make if he/she were to acquire information from the Rootsweb forum.

regards
Carol

Hello again Mo

I have now received the marriage certificate for Hannah Barlow which confirms her mother's name was Ellen, so thank you for identifying the correct baptism entry at Flixton.

I wonder if I could trouble you for a couple more entries from the Flixton PRs.

Baptism; circa 1841 Thomas Royle, mother Betty (possibly an illegitimate birth)
Marriage; circa 1794 George Royle to Betty
Marriage; 1815 John Royle to Mary
Burial;  after 1841 Betty Royle (widow) aged over 70.

If there is any help or advice as to how I can access these entries, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks again
Carol

Thank you so much Mo, I do believe this could well be the correct entry.  Hannah Barlow was definitely born at Flixton and by the time she was 6 she was a nurse child in another family's household.   Inevitably if her mother was a single woman and unable to keep her daughter (or perhaps she died), then it is highly likely Hannah would have been brought up elsewhere.

Thank you, I am really grateful for this.

Hello

Please can anyone help me to identify a baptism for Hannah Barlow, circa 1845 at Flixton, Lancashire?

Hannah was a nurse child in the household of the Pearson family in 1851 & 1861 aged 6 years and 16 years, so no evidence of her parents are known, only that she was born at Flixton circa 1845.

There is no suitable entry of birth either in the indexes at the GRO.

If anyone can help me to identify Hannah, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you to each of you who have submitted baptims for the Weatherbed family - what I am now trying to establish the the birth of James Snr circa 1796.

If James Weatherbed Snr was not baptised at St Mary's Nottingham, please can anyone tell me how many other parishes in the City there were so that I can explore further?

Thank you.

Thank you for each of these replies.

To Kayceebee5, the family whose baptism you found in 1830 is correct, it is the James Snr whose baptism I am seeking.  The James baptised in 1830 was their son.

However, I would be very interested to discover the names and dates of the other children baptised to James & Hannah if you are in a position to share with me.

It looks likely then that James Snr was not bapted at St Mary's, but in another parish.

To Greyingrey, I have traced the relevant Weatherbed line, it is the earlier ancestor who I am trying to identify.  I am looking at circa 1795 (the 1900s is far too recent, but thank you anyway).

Regards to all and many thanks
