In 1900, senior medical officer was J Bradley Hughes - your JH?

List of surgeons in Liverpool in 1900:
https://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/digital/collection/p16445coll4/id/288263/rec/9
closest to BO I can find:
Felix Brannigan O'Flaherty
John Brown Oliver

Of course if you can find a directory from around 1906/7 you might see some new names pop up.

George Grecian married Isabella McKenzie in 1850
Also a child to them born the same year.
But then nothing until George marries in 1861. Possibly the second marriage certificate would give you some useful info. it might be she died before 1853 (when civil registration officially started).

Europe / Re: Sensburg, East Prussia records

On the familysearch catalog for this location, there seem to be some parish registers and also land tenancy records.

Some of these are only viewable at a FHC.

I see no marginal notes on her birth certificate, unfortunately.

I see that "de Bartholomey" is a common spelling for the family in France so maybe:

To understand "Russian Poland" you have to understand a little of the history:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partitions_of_Poland
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congress_Poland

It would be worth looking at other Selmer/Celmer families in  Schenectady, as they may be related.

It is possible that he never naturalised. 1930 doesn't indicate either way, neither does 1940 as he claims to be born US. In order to naturalise, he would have to have given his date of arrival and have it checked - and if he didn't arrive under the name William Dempsey, that might have caused him some issues.

Incidentally, for the 1919 arrival, as he was travelling as crew, you should probably try to see if you can find merchant seaman record for him. Perhaps he jumped ship somewhere.

No sign of anything in the newspapers relating to after Florence got married to Richard... only directly before (you may have this already, but adding another couple of names into the mix).

London and Middlesex / Re: Kidman / Bruce Brentford
« on: Monday 11 March 24 10:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Stephen,

A bit of background for you that I think will clear up the confusion:

Brentford registration district covered Ealing until 1947, when Brentford was broken up and Ealing district created.
https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/brentford.html

Therefore the 1940, 1945, and 1948 births could all have been at an Ealing address, despite the different registration districts.

As to the birthdate and later marriage, the 1939 register wasn't just recording what happened in 1939, it also records later name changes in many cases because it was used as the basis for the NHS register from 1948 onwards.
So Sylvia Bruce, living with Edward O Bruce in 1939, has Ellis recorded against her name, because when she later married it was noted on her NHS records (this can also be used as a source for her birthdate)

There is a birth in 1919 for a Harold Arthur Forrest Koselj, mother's maiden name Forrest, in Lambeth.
Possible that this child is your Harold, and was actually the nephew of Harold.
