Hi All,

Does anyone have an old street map of Reading, and could tell me the location of Hope Street, I think it was in the vacinity of Howard street, so may have been demolished to make way for the fly over? I have a record of it on the 1911 Census, but cannot find it on any maps.

Hi,

I am looking for a either a website or a historian who can help me research an area of Barbados, my ancestors went to Barbados in 1640 and became rich sugar plantation owners, and I am trying to gain a little knowledge on the place that still has there name, Kirtons in Barbados.

Thanks

Sarah

Hi,

Thanks to your fantastic help I have today recieved my death certificate and other document photo's from eggsa.

All the information matches, exact date and place of birth, fathers name, but the mothers name is different, Margaret Maud instead of Sarah Ann, is this a huge co-incidence and I have the wrong person, or is it likely they may have put the wrong name on the death certificate.

Thanks in advance for any help

Just come across this post. I used to have a Saturday job at Milwards in Broad Street many moons ago.
They had a large rocking horse in the store as well as an "x-ray" machine for looking at the internal fit of the shoe.
They had both even when I was a kid being fitted out for my Clarks crepe sole sandles and they were both still there in the
early 60's.

I remember the large rocking horse and xray machine from my childhood, you used to have to take a number and wait to be seen rather than just find an assistant.
